Top Stories - Meet the New Police Chief (Part 1)
Newly hired Asheville police chief William Anderson doesn't start his new job until March 1st. But he's speaking out now in an exclusive interview with News 13's Mario Boone.
Anderson responded to critics who say he's soft on crime and ignores the minority community in Greenville, NC where he is currently chief of police. Anderson talked family, career, and his plans to clean up troubled APD.
He also denied he was asked to resign from GPD. Anderson said it's simply the right time to explore new opportunities.
