Top Stories - Donation Box Concerns

A Polk County non-profit is concerned that  an outside agency is taking donations from local people who need them. Boxes belonging to Carolina Clothing Recycling of Spartanburg showed up last week in Columbus. It's in the same area where donation boxes for Second Chance Thrift Store can be found. Donations to Second Chance help support the local domestic violence shelter. The boxes were removed Friday when town officials told the company it had no permits and was violating town zoning laws.
