Gay marriage was the subject of discussion Friday at Western Carolina University, not in a classroom...but at an outdoor rally. Opponents of a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in North Carolina are taking their message to colleges across the state.  Registering voters is also part of the campaign. Rally organizers say the ban discriminates against people and goes beyond banning just gay marriage, but also civil unions and domestic partnerships. The "Race to the Ballot" campaign will hold several events in Asheville this weekend. It wraps up at UNC-Wilmington on March 2nd. The gay marriage ban comes up for a vote in North Carolina on May 8th.
