Top Stories - Man Evicted From Family's Property

Black Mountain town officials order a man to pack up his tent and leave a vacant lot on Portman Villa Road.
But Steve Robinson says his family owns the lot, and he can stay there as long as he wants.
Robinson once lived in a house on the property, but it burned years ago.
Two weeks ago he returned, set up his tent, moved in his girlfriend, and rented a portable toilet.
Town officials say camping violates zoning ordinances and threatens public health, so they've ordered him off the property.
He says he and his girlfriend are homeless, and their tent is safer than sleeping along highways or railroad tracks.Man Evicted From Family's Property
