Lisa Uy, a senior at Boiling Springs High School, has won the Scholar/Athlete competition for the 2015 season of WMYA-TV’s Friday Night Rivals. Thanks to the generosity of the program’s sponsor, George Sink Injury Lawyers, Uy will receive a $5,000 scholarship to the college or university of her choice.
This year marked the eighth consecutive season that WMYA-TV has televised live Upstate South Carolina high school football in Prime Time on over-the-air television. The 2015 schedule included games featuring Union County, Gaffney, Pendleton, Pickens, Spartanburg, Mauldin, Laurens, Hillcrest, Riverside, Byrnes, Westside, Easley, Greenwood, T.L. Hanna, St. Joseph, Christ Church Episcopal, Greer, Blue Ridge, Dorman and Boiling Springs. Every school on the Friday Night Rivals schedule nominated one senior class Scholar/Athlete for the George Sink/My40 scholarship competition.
