WMYA Weather

The next round of wintry weather begins after sunset for the higher elevations as a clipper-like system rolls into the region. This system may bring colder temperatures than the one this morning, but it lacks big time when it comes to moisture. I expect accumulations of 1 to 3" in higher elevations across many Tennessee border counties. For valley areas over Buncombe Co., flurries to a burst or two of light snow is possible with nothing to a dusting in terms of accumulations by tomorrow morning.

Your Thanksgiving will certainly be colder with temperatures in the lower 40s and winds gusting over 20 miles per hour! This will create wind chill temperatures in the 20s much of the day, so prepare to bundle up!

Black Friday will begin cold as well with temperatures in the 20s. I only expect highs in the mid 40s Friday underneath mostly sunny skies. This coming weekend will bring a significant warmup to the region with highs in the 60s by Sunday!

Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
