WMYA Weather

Expect a cold, windy, but mostly sunny afternoon across the WNC Mountains, with highs in the mid 30's.  The sunshine and 'barely-above-freezing' highs will help melt off more snow.  That snowmelt will quickly re-freeze as black ice shortly after sunset, making for another night of slippery travel.  Lows drop into the lower 20's tonight.

The weekend starts off chilly, with more clouds and highs in the upper 30's.  We can't rule out flurries in the higher elevations.  Saturday night-Sunday morning brings some rain.  Some of this could fall as freezing rain in the foothills, before daybreak.  Highs climb into the mid 40's later in the day on Sunday, allowing that moisture to turn into all rain.

Our warmup continues on Monday and Tuesday, with rain likely and highs in the mid 50's.  Wednesday will be the armest day, with highs reaching the lower 60's in the mountains and upper 60's in the Upstate, with a chance of thunderstorms.  Those storms come along another cold front that will cool our highs into the lower 50's on Thursday.  Overall, a very springlike week ahead!
